Mission Statement

The Kittitas Yakima Valley Community Land Trust acquires and maintains land for the benefit of first time home buyers below the Area Median Income with preference given to those at the lower end of the scale. It provides secure, affordable access to land and housing for those unable to qualify for home ownership in the current market.

What is “home”?

Home is more than just a residence.

Home is the rich bed by which we plant and sow the garden of our hopes and aspirations. A place of our own. A structural and emotional extension of what our lives are, what our lives have been and what our lives might yet become. Our home is an extension of who we are, painted rooms in just the perfect hue, pictures gracing the walls, the familiar setting for countless photo albums, framing our best days in vitality and love.

Home provides us a space to live and love and laugh and dance, without fear of judgment or reprisal. Our home stands as a quiet, gentle sentinel of contentment and security, holding warm vigil over that which we find most precious, our loved ones.

A home gives comfort to our deepest sorrows and plays venue to our greatest joys.

Simply put, home is where our heart lives.
